The photo is from the First European PostDoc Summer School for Advanced Work and Organizational Psychology, held in Berlin from September 6th-12th 2009 (since then biannual) and hosted and organized by EAWOP and Leuphana University. Frank held one of the keynotes. His topic was “How to Detect and Correct the Lies that Data Tell”. And he stayed the entire time! Look at his right foot: He fought all odds to make it to Berlin and make a difference for the mostly European 40 young scholars from 22 different countries. Even bad weather and canceled flights into ORD could not prevent him from traveling! I also remember that at this occasion three fellow former PhD students met for a week which they had not done for decades. Two of them: Frank Schmidt and, to his right, Neal Schmitt.
